Kramer LLP Attorneys Recorded Clean Sweep, Won Five Consecutive IPRs for ASSIA
In May 2025, Kramer LLP attorneys recorded a PTAB clean sweep on behalf of Adaptive Spectrum and Signal Alignment, Inc. (“ASSIA”), winning denial of institution on all five inter partes review petitions filed by Charter Communications challenging ASSIA’s foundational patents. The Patent Trial and Appeal Board denied institution of each petition, defeating Charter’s challenges to the validity of ASSIA’s patents in their entirety. The proceedings arose alongside ASSIA’s patent infringement litigation against Charter in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas (No. 2:24-cv-00124). Confirmed denials include Charter Communications, Inc. v. Adaptive Spectrum and Signal Alignment, Inc., IPR2024-01379 (U.S. Patent No. 7,809,996) and IPR2025-00088 (U.S. Patent No. 11,050,654).
The five-for-five result underscored Kramer LLP’s team’s record of success defending the patents of inventors and patent owners against challenges brought by some of the world’s largest companies. The clean sweep reflected the strategic approach to inter partes review proceedings and the firm’s continued commitment to securing results for clients enforcing their patent rights.
